Klarna Engineering live series: Tallinn is for Senior Software Engineers & Engineering Managers who want to hear about the engineering challenges and solutions that resulted in Klarna becoming the largest private FinTech company in the EU valued at $5.5 Billion.

In 2015 Klarna Engineering started its own internal conference for Product & Engineering. Every year it has grown. By 2019 the event had 800 attendees. You can see some of the talks here. Klarna Engineering live series is a spin off of this internal conference, where we bring a couple of talks to your hometown.   

The event also offers an opportunity to network and interact with other like minded engineers in your home city as well as getting to know what it's like to work at Klarna. 

Please join us, share some free food and drinks and meet with some of the Klarna Engineering Leadership team and engineers responsible for achieving this level of growth.

Mite covers the checkout product which is the core of Klarna's offering. Gareth covers the core of the consumer proposition. Between them they support 200+ engineers. - Lightning Talk - Building runtime platforms for developers

The DevOps practices intended to reduce the time between a code commit and the change being placed into production. At the same time it can put a strain on the developers to know more and follow more standardisations in order to not create chaos. Nils will present the design work of a runtime platform that enables developers to focus on their business problems rather than maintaining infrastructure and help them in their security work.

Nils Lagerkvist

Nils is a Swedish engineer that joined Klarna in the beginning of 2019. He has a past in designing large scale micro-service architectures and infrastructure platforms enabling developers to move fast.

Alexandre will present the pragmatic solutions and setups used by Klarna engineers to push out new features every day without interfering with our reliability.Deployment strategies, A/B testing, micro-services architecture or anomaly detection, join Alexandre to understand how one can use these tools to ensure innovation is made possible for autonomous teams.

Alexandre is a French engineer working at Klarna since 2018. His past experience as self-employed engineer taught him the importance of autonomy as innovation driver, especially within large enterprises.

Eleni will present our experience of architecture, techniques and recipes that have allowed multiple teams to work and deliver features independently into our flagship products: Checkout, Instant Shopping, Klarna Payments.Join Eleni to find out whether these patterns could help your frontend teams deliver with more autonomy and efficiency.

Eleni Kargioti

Eleni left sunny Greece to join Klarna in 2015 as a frontend engineer. Eleni has been part of the rollout of Klarna Checkout in US/UK, and witnessed the first steps towards Checkout’s modularization. Eleni now leads the Instant Shopping team which recently released an express checkout solution allowing consumers to buy at the point of inspiration.

At Klarna we invested heavily in JavaScript as a full stack language and use Java as one of our prominent systems development languages. There are many other languages in use as well.
